Higby Barrett’s monthly China Insights service is in its second year and growing. Our China report was created as a response from clients interested in specific market sectors in China and from the gap in information that began to appear earlier this year. Higby Barrett saw an opportunity to expand our team to include affiliates inside and outside of China. The service is written from a Chinese point of view with deeper insight as to how Chinese officials interpret new government policies. We welcome specific questions concerning the markets.

Director of Research & Consulting
Alan Barrett is an accomplished economist with more than 25 years of experience in futures and cash markets with a focus on cotton, commodity projects, non-traditional agricultural products, transportation and supply chain studies. He is currently the Director of Research and Consulting at Higby Barrett. Alan supervises the fundamental and technical economic analysis performed by the Higby Barrett team. Alan also leads the consulting practice and is a principal investigator for projects focused on transportation, agricultural markets, and energy.
Director of Revenue
Riley Higby manages the Higby Barrett business, including its custom data business. Riley started his career in agribusiness consulting focused on farming families and then shifted to consulting with agribusinesses where he developed a specialty for economic impact analysis. Riley has analyzed projects across a wide range of topics including crop production, livestock production, processing, biofuel, farm tax policy, litigation support, and rural infrastructure.
